Mary Stella Seevaratnam

Mary Stella Seevaratnam passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, December 14, 2024 in East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada at the age of 86. Mary Stella was born in Karampon, Sri Lanka on February 24, 1938.

Mary Stella Seevaratnam was the cherished wife of the late Assistant Government Agent (AGA), Samuel Seevaratnam Sabaratnam, and a teacher for 25 years at St. Bridget’s Convent Colombo 07. Mary Stella was a woman full of love, wisdom, and kindness. She lived a very full life with many responsibilities but not limited to, a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, teacher and philanthropist.

Mary Stella Seevaratnam was a devoted mother to Roy Sutharshan, Premila Christy, and Anesley Suganthan Seevaratnam.

She was the beloved daughter of late parents SellathuraiSoosapillai and Mary Magaret (Chellum),

sister to George, Edward, Mariannette (Baba), and Emiliyanus.

She was the beloved daughter-in-law of Valipooram Sabaratnam.

​

She was the beloved mother-in-law to Patricia Vasanthy Sutharshan, Christy Mariyanayagam and Jera Anesley. 

​

She was a loving grandmother to Christina Christy, Irene Christy, Madonna Dinisheya, Andrew Dinushan, Esther Christy, and Adrian Jerrish Anesley.

She was the loving grandmother-in-law to Branden Bonaby.
